Mechanic's Kubel

My mechanic's Kuwagen. Still a work in progress, I think every project is.

Basic Dragon Kubelwagen kit modified.
Used up scaled templates from the 1/35 scale Dragon kubel for plans to make the tool storage areas.
Side mounted Jerry can holders are scratch built using strip plastic and a hobby heat gun.

Double Fuel can rack is scratch built and normally is placed on top of the tool drawer box.

Tool drawers work and are full of tools, nuts, bolts and other stuff normally found in tool boxes or spare parts boxes.
Valve added to bottom of full tank. Wing nut from Armor guy .
Welding tanks are from Der Werkstadt, they still need to be weather and labeled.

Stove is scratch built.
Engine hatch works using a miniture piano hinge.
Engine is a modified 21st century kubelwagen engine.

Storage area hatch works as do the drawers.
Full of tools, books and gear

Oil cans are from Der Werkstadt
Not seen is an area for battery acid bottles and smaller oil bottles

Isn't finish yet, needs a lot more done. Still need to put the better floorboards in. Not sure if I am going to leave her gray or Africanize her for my DAK troops. Either way she still needs to be weathered.

This was for a contest, that I did not plan well for. The First Sergeant and his driver are bring up some food to the mechanics section and also some overcoats for the approaching cold weather.
