.308's German Data Plate Update...

Good News all plates promised are going into production and will be available soon! I wanted to show you the progress and location of plates for each set.

First, the Field Kitchen. This needs some explanation. I have been working with a couple of SAG member's (thank you for your help and making these plates a reality!) on these projects and will be using their photo's to illustrate. The plates, I decided to split the difference between historical accuracy, and difficulties with the DML Field Kitchen. On the DML model they modeled on to the model application points for the data plates. These unfortunately do not meet historical accuracy and proper scaling. There will need to be some alteration to the model for correction. I will illustrate this with some photo's.

Here is a historical photo that clearly shows the location of the plates and gives a clue as to the approximate size and shape.


Here are paper dummies (ALL PLATES WILL BE ALUMINUM AND HIGH QUALITY) examples placed and you will see the difference at the proper application points.











The differences are obvious...

Second, the Plate placement for the Kubel and Schwimm. Not illustrated are the data plates for the Kubel engine compartment but they are the same as the Schwimm. Thjere are 2 choices of speedometers for each.

Paul I was looking through my books today very carefully and found another placard. It is on the backside of the chimney. You can see it in this picture.

Yes, that's right there are actually two on the chimney. One on the upper part and the other below, both are included...

Seems I forgot and didn't include the positioning of the two smallest plates included in the Field Kitchen set. They are for the chimney assembly. These photo's should cover it! Sorry about that guys! the "A" plate to the lower half, and the "B" plate to the upper half.
