Re: My latest project
I am trying to find a good design I can use for a small church for my street scene. I am not familiar enough with what you might see on a city street in Europe. These 6 churches are small enough I can make a scaled down version of that will fit in the scale of the street, I'll probably make the bell tower a little taller for effect I'll keep it open so it will make a good sniper perch. If anyone has better pics of a good source let me know.

Re: My latest project
Thanks guys and Joe I love that bell tower! I might use it with one of the other church buildings. It's ornate but no too ornate that I couldn't make a 1/6th scale copy easy enough.

Re: My latest project
I have been looking for accessories for my street scene and found these:
Tabletop Street Light, Street Light Centerpiece, Lamppost Centerpiece They are 22" tall 11' in 1/6th a lot shorter than the POS CH light post I got last year but I think it would be easy to add a few more inches to it. I have also been looking at outdoor lantern string lights. I found some ones I think might work but have to get the sizes. Shop Garden Treasures 10-Light 7'10" Black Patio String Lights at Lowes.com If these are around than 3" tall and 2 1/4" wide they will work well. The CH lamp is about 4" tall x 2 3/8" anything smaller than that will be fine. Making the base and pole is an easy task and won't cost much. I drilled out and modified the CH light so I can put a 9V battery in the base and make it a self contained working lamp post. I need to find a good size 9V bulb for the lamp itself.

Re: My latest project
Finally had some free time to start the church. I kind of used a little from all the pics. Still need to make the rest of the steeple add the architectural details maybe tomorrow.

Re: My latest project
Here are a few more pics with the top of the steeple.
![]() ![]() ![]() So far it stands 6' high once the roof of the steeple is done it should stand close to or more than 8' high. I had a bell I was going to use in the tower but it's way too small. I need something about 9" tall 6" across. Looks like a hunting trip tomorrow. LOL

Re: My latest project
Thanks guys, Can't do much more in the house the church build is too tall. Right now it's only a 1' or so from the ceiling. I am going to build the roof with milled 1/6th lumber. I did make the top 2' of the Steeple removable so it will be easy to take down when I am not shooting. Tomorrow is supposed to be a good day with not much wind. I should be able lay them out in the yard and see what I have for room and more buildings. I still haven't figured out what finsih I am going to do. Brick or Stone I figure. Brick would be easier than stone some simple dry brushing will give a good look. Stone takes more to do and each stone has to have it's own character.
GB when you get it and see how easy it is to work with your going to go crazy building with it. I just like to warn people if your going to sand or use a hot wire, hot knife or anything that will make dust or fumes wear a respirator. It doesn't take much to make your throat feel like you swallowed razor blades. I though I could get away with just a dust mask the first time I worked with it not smart. I thought I was going to end up in the hospital. I won't sand or heat it in the house either I do it all out in the yard I don't want the dust around the house.
