Re: Wermacht officer and sniper

Good looking figures, well weathered. They make a good team.

Nice job!
I think you did a great job on the weathering and I like to see snipers.

Re: Wermacht officer and sniper

Great figures.
The bright metal at the rim of the helmets looks a little "off" to me. American helmets had a stainless steel rim applied, that is why the edges are always so bright when the paint wears away. German helmets didn't have the stainless steel edge. I wonder if the steel used would even polish to a bright silver finish. Not an expert, just years of observation. Most shiny spots on a German helmet are from the effect of light on a shiny patch of paint or bare, but brown, metal.

Re: Wermacht officer and sniper

Hi sixth vanguard the photo that I used for reference for my sniper was colorized and it may not have been exact . I try to make my customs as correct and realistic as possible. I appreciate input that helps me to improve my projects. Thanks for your expertise.

Re: Wermacht officer and sniper

Gary, great work on weathering. You really brought a gritty feel and I like what you did with the new "Ralf" headsculpt. Very raw feel to the figure, I really find it quite life-like. Some of the photos are very convincing and make me do a double take.......Jim
