SS Obersturmführer Aldo Wenning

Hi everyone! My second project is german Tiger I commander Aldo Wenning, Ardennes ofensive, December 1944. Figure is DML 70565 with DID hands. Mud is mixture of Acrylic resin Mig Productions, pigments, Tamiya X-9 acrylic paint, X-22 clear and X-20 A thinner for softer finish. Cap is drybrushed with Revell email paints.

Looking good! I like the little touches, like the dirt around the ears and the cuts on his hands.

However, his shoulderboards are incorrect for an Obersturmfuhrer. An Obersturmfuhrer was the Waffen-SS equivalent to an Oberleutnant (or US First Lieutenant). He should have shoulderboards that look like this:



The shoulderboards he's wearing right now are for the lowest enlisted ranks, not an officer. The collar tabs are correct, though.

Thanks, yes I know about this shoulderboards, but sometimes officers in filed wearing this shoulderboards for lowest enlisted ranks. I saw photo of german officer with this shoulderboards, but i do not know where.

Thank you, it is from Unteroffizier shoulderboards, from figure Adler Augen (DML 70625)

Very nice. One of the things I pcked up on were the great details you put into the figure. Very realistic, I particularly liked the open pack of cigarettes, that was really well done, I don't think I have seen that before.

Going over the photos again it is really something to see the details you put into this figure, the little cuts, dirty bandage and mud. Very well done, the little details do a lot in telling the story.......Jim
