• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Not really a weapon, vehicle, or figure so I guess it goes here. Apologies for the less than stellar photos. An iPhone is rather imperfect for this sort of thing. I am going to have to re-do the box as the tow loops and ID plate are not placed correctly, as well the bracket for stowing...

Rifleman, Polish Army, September 1939 I understand now why there haven’t been more of this subject attempted. It’s a real challenge to come up with proper trousers, and most of the important pieces of equipment need to be scratch built. The helmet- So let’s begin with the helmet. This is my...

Kuban Cossack in German service (lots-o-pics)

So I made a grey Kubanka and it was too large. I trimmed it down and it was still too large, but it looked really cool. So I go to the references and I see my choices are either WWI/ Russian Civil War or some of the guys fighting for the master race had big hats. It's been awhile since I've done...

Soviet Naval Infantryman Hanko Peninsula summer 1942

My first homemade uniform. Only took six attempts. The off white canvas fatigue uniforms show up quite a bit in the photographic record. These can be seen with or without the Nelson collar which should be detachable on all naval uniforms. Also you can find these being worn just about year round...

First stage- rough foam patterns: Rough patterns, and full scale mock-up. With a potential pilot. Now these parts need to get coated and recast in wax for detail work (stage 2). Then after I am happy with the final wax patterns it's into the rubber for resin casting to make the final...

Pilot Fleet Aviation Northern Front Spring 1942

More experiments with pastels for head painting and some minor tweaks to other parts to make aviator gear. Not the most accurate collection of parts, and I still need to come up with a parachute. The cap badge is the bigest accomplishment. I need to get my eyes checked as I can't see the detail...
