• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

"Ian Redux!" Sept. 17 is Operation Market Garden's 75th Anny!

"Ian" Redux: Dragon's first British Paratrooper promoted, repainted, updated and re-equipped - Oosterbeek, Holland, Sept., 1944.

Ian was the first realistic British paratrooper on the market, so he is in need of a do over. Nothing but the head sculpt remains!

He is shown here in the woods of Wolfheze, in and around St. Elizabeth's Hospital - where the 1st Airborne's back was eventually broken, trying to fight their way through the Waffen SS to relieve Col. John Frost at the bridge - the Hartstein Hotel, the streets of Arnhem, and finally the church at Oosterbeek where the last stand and withdrawal began.

I initially had trouble matching the color hue of the figure with that of the background. The worst photos, I converted to black and white, and the better ones I gave a faded color photograph hue, for a better historical feel.

Ian has his webbing painted Blanco KG1 with Vallejo "yellow green", and his (BBI) bandolier was painted Vallejo "Khaki Grey" for a more realistic, darker webbing color. Only his sten-gun and his head-sculpt are the same.

Enjoy!

SHOW ME YOUR BRITISH PARATROOPERS!

Nice looking figure. The repainted gear looks great. Also like the historical background. Adds a lot to the overall presentation.
