USCM: Colonial Marines

This is what I've been working on lately.

I've always loved the look of the Colonial Marines from the Aliens film. I got a friend of mine online to send me some casts of his armor.
I cleaned them of the molds, primed, and Yesterday I got both sets painted, and some web gear assembled.

I sort of threw whatever I had kicking around at them, for the web-gear. What seemed to work, stuck.

Here's a back shot

I'm thinking of dismantling a web-vest I got with an M60 kit for better web gear, but what I threw together looks alright I think.

Also might do some more detailing touch-up painting later on, metal chipping and the like.

I just need to get my hands on some pulse rifles, now...

This was my first time trying customizing on this scale (getting a cast, painting, assembling, etc...) I think it's turned out alright!

Would love to hear what you guys think!

I like it a lot! You've kind of given your own take on the colonial Marine look and I think that's completely cool. It might be fun to combine the colonial Marine look with the star wars rebel troops look and come up with something completely new and original. Using uniform and equipment elements you like and you can get your hands on, you could build a platoon in no time.

Thanks a lot, Tim! Combining the Colonial Marines with the Rebel troops is an excellent idea...I predict some experimenting is in order, heh heh.

I'm still doing some work to 'em, but I like how they're shaping up so far.

Definitely a squad of ultimate badasses.
