Re: Panzerwerk Stug III by Mardon !

I just love the Mardon vehicles!
Light, strong and affordable. They provide a great base to detail and customize.
Great to see that these great vehicles are still being produced.

Re: Panzerwerk Stug III by Mardon !

It is nice to see another Stug being built. I have one of the first three, maybe the first one of the hulls Mardon molded for Panzerwerk. Steve modified it for me with the 105mm gun TPQ36 made. Steve made all the running gear and added the suspension components that were mastered by Plastic Panzers he finished and molded. I think they're all available on the Panzerwerk web sight. Really nice model.
Steve, did you make the running gear and tracks for this one or is Mardon molding them from your masters now?

Re: Panzerwerk Stug III by Mardon !

Nice StugIII but they got the one hatch wrong... it should open side to side(left and right) instead of front to back. The way it is the mg couldn't be fired

No, it's correct. The loading doors don't interfere with the MG. The Panzerwerk Stug is a pretty standard G. I have seen Stug III's with the loading doors configured the way your talking about. Not a good way to mount the doors though since it would interfere with egress from the sides of the vehicle. Probably other reasons I don't know for designing the vehicle this way. I'm no Stug expert.
I'm sure Steve and others here who really know what they're talking about can comment further on variations. Again, I am distinctly not an expert. I just like my Stuh 42 with the 105 gun. It's neato.

Re: Panzerwerk Stug III by Mardon !

The forward half of the hatch had a tab with a hole that fit a post on the shield so that the hatch acted as a brace/support. If a remember correctly the last versions of the Stug that used the remote MG mount had the hatches open to the sides so that they could protect the loading of the MG.

Just going through some of these older posts. Sad you can't get the Stug III anymore or the other vehicles that Mardon made for Panzerwerk and others. They really are missed.

Re: Panzerwerk Stug III by Mardon !

I have not heard from Truescale armor in 2 years at least. I wonder if Mardon is still producing vehicles. I have not seen anything new in ages... Still have some projects to o and I hardly do 1/6 these days. But I just love the Mardon vehicles and would have ordered some more along the way for sure...

I talked to Keith of truescale last Joelanta. There isn't any new production from Mardon.
