Toy City 80 mm Mortar with Ammo

On the Cotswold website, there is listed for pre-order a Toy City german 80 mm mortar with ammo and case. It looks really nice. Has anyone heard about this one? Do you know what it is made out of?

Thanks...Kat

I looked on the Cotswold site for the Toys City pre-order, but I couldn't find it. Do you have a link to it?

Ah. I see it now. It looks exactly like the one DML did a while ago with their German FJ figures from Monte Cassino. I have a few of the DML ones, and they are made out of plastic, so I can only guess that these are made out of plastic also.

I hope these are made of metal as I would be interested in buying a few. I like the idea of these and wonder if Toy City is coming out with any of the other items that these mortars had in a set.

I like it and look at the price $19.99 just right.

Sweet........
- Gr.W.34 80mm Mortor Tube
- Adjustable Bi-Pod
- Base Plate
- 80mm Mortor Rounds x 4 pcs
- Ammo Case with working lid cover

It's about time a company is pricing stuff like this reasonably. It's prebuilt too not a kit. I hope Toy City keeps it up with new stuff. Take that DML!

I'm not quite sure why you feel the need to take a jab at DML...
It appears to me that we, as 1/6-ers have a pretty good situation with, now, both the Toys City 'pre-built' mortar (apparently in gray)...and the DML 'kit' which allows modellers to build and paint to their preference...
seems like these two companies have given us a nice situation tailored to those who like to build and those who don't...
I applaud all the Toys City releases...I'm especially looking forward to the US M1 rifle and the M1923 cartridge belt...their Fallschirmjager helmets are second only to the un-attainable and short-lived BBI Ardennes Fallachirmjager officer helmet...and I've loved using their camo smocks and Italian Panzerkombi's for my few German bashes...
But I also LOVE the fact that DML are releasing vehicles, artillery, and smaller weapons in 'kit' form...it certainly allows me to build, detail, and paint to my heart's delight, without having to strip the factory applied finish on their previous offerings...
again...I see both these offerings as a big plus for us...I didn't realize people were keeping score...but then again, I don't take releases by DML that I don't particularly like as a personal affront...neither do I take releases by DiD that I don't like personally ...or any of the 1/6 manufacturers, for that matter...
I like this offering...I'll be anxious to compare the two...

Arbomambo how can you take such a logical aproach to all of this. Where is the hate?

I appreciate your thinking here as I never could understand the bi-partison non-sense that alot of folks take to company A over company B. It's all good stuff and if you like A over B than it doesn't make a lick of sense to bash but rather support in hopes that they both will become better. BTW the morter looks great and I will be getting one or two to fill in the section. My krauts need some support and I don't mean bra's.
