Welcome to the jungle!

Latest project is my first US marine! (sorry G n' R no Axl here :dunno)
This is a surprised marine deep into the jungle during the the Guadalcanal Campaign.
The figure is basically a Dragon figure with an old DID body, obviously a LOT of alterations were made including sculpting a neck/chest/knee/wrists for the first time. The holster for the kbar knife was made from leather and many small details were custom made as usual.
There are probably some equipment mistakes as I am not an expert in the subject (nor in any other subject that is..). I also left the bi-pod on the BAR as I just like it a lot :applause..but I am aware that they were taken of at all times.

That's all folks, enjoy.

Re: Welcome to the jungle!

Outstanding. Job on the weathering some real stand out details too, such as the open pack of smokes. Sure it's true that bi pods were often removed, but that doesn't mean always. I think he captures the look of a tired worn out 1st Marine veteran of the campaign. Wonderful work.

Re: Welcome to the jungle!

The bird really makes it! On a single branch, it looks like a Japanese flower arrangement in a very ironic way. Beautiful!

Re: Welcome to the jungle!

Very nice! Love it. I second Pangaloss' statement about the bipod. They were often removed, but also often used, so either way is correct.
