A couple of figures and some head sculpts
Hey everyone!
It was great weather yesterday! I hope that everyone enjoyed the weekend. I spent most of the weekend outdoors at Lacrosse games and working in the yard. I took a break in the afternoon to take some photos of some recent projects. Enjoy! I recently went back to Michigan to pick up my daughter from college. While I was there I met up with some old friends and we sort of had an impromtu semi-annual MAD meeting. Bryan hosted and Chuck came up. We worked on sculpts mostly and Chuck was a big help giving advice. Below are a few of the head sculpts that I touched up and tried to weather. A couple of the DiD sculpts didn't need too much work and the Gunther sculpt is now at least usable. Ill touch up the hair on most when I get the opportunity. Tried to dirty up a couple as if they were in a vehicle or behind a crew served weapon. Worked on giving them "Ive been in the sun all look" as well as making the eyes look tired. Some came out better than others. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, I was able to fit two of the ToysCity german uni's on a couple of figures. Trying to make Meyer and Wunsch. The Wunsch is the Ch sculpt which I also tried to weather. The uniforms are a great material. Not too thick and easy to adjust. The fit is great and there is lots of room to play with. The caps look better than what Im showing. They were in their box that I had packed them in for the trip and the shape was a bit squashed from their travels. I also have the Heer Splinter uniform which I like a lot but Im still trying to figure out how to use the complete uniform so I didn't take photos of the figure. Ive come across a couple of photos of German soldiers in the splinter camouflage and Ill try to do something based upon those. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hi Alfonso!
Awesome weathering in the heads! You made a great work! I like a lot your Wunsche & Meyer custom figures, except the TC hats (I don´t like the form of the skin of these hats). Otherwise excellent. Congratulations, my friend ![]() ![]() |

Alfonso,
Nice work on the head sculpts! When you work on them are you using pastel's, painting them or a combination?

Re: A couple of figures and some head sculpts
Thanks guys!
It was all done in chalks. Is that pastels? Chuck was willing to show me his technique with paints but I wasnt feeling it. Some came out better than others. The one I was happy to see come out decent was the Michael Cain sculpt, I bidded fairly high for that figure when it was released by CH. I cant seem to part with it. The caps are the low point of the TC sets but they arent too bad. It really depends on the sculpts. The caps seem to fit a normal sized sculpt and any type of hair sculpt will make it tight. Mine are not the best in the pics due to having been pushed down while packed.

Re: A couple of figures and some head sculpts
Your Kurt Meyer uses the Dragon body but what about the head sculpt it looks rather like the DamToys head

Nice sculpt, very nice flat and solid finish. Is the finish permanent?
Then again what is permanent, but you know what I mean! How does the pastels stay on the figure? |

Re: A couple of figures and some head sculpts
Rivetcounter, you're correct. The body is DML and the head sculpt is DAM.
E, they were sealed with dull coat. I'm hoping that that keeps them painted for years to come. I'll get them on figures with older sculpts and they won't be messed with for a while. Meaning that they won't be changed out with uniform or headgear for a while.
