Third Place - St. Lo Survivor;Periers,France, July 25, 1944

Very lucky german soldiers survives massive carpet bombing. There would be 850 B-17 Flying Fortresses and 650 B-24 Liberators (1503 in all) carrying 3400 tons of bombs, destroying the enemy's ability to fight before this day was over during the allied assault called Operation Cobra on the outskirts of St. Lo. Medic of the 1st US Army German assists wounded german.
