Kriegsmarine Helmet Color/insignia Question

First off. What color were kriegsmarine helmets? Black? Or a dark navy blue?

Second, what insgnia was on these helmets? Would all of them have the insgnia in 1942? Or would some be with out it?

I have 2 original Kriegsmarine helmets, an M35 and an M42, and both of them are a dark green similar to the army. In all of the books I've read that is what they should be. As for insignia both of mine only have the eagle decal which is gold. The tri color shield was ordered to be removed in the spring of 1940 for all frontline troops so I guess the navy could still have it on. Hope this is of help.
