WIP Custom WW2 B-17 Bombadier with custom leather jacket.

Gday all,
Just thought I'd throw up a few teaser pics. Here is a work in progress, a WW2 B-17 Crewman/Bombadier.
I have yet to add maps, etc but I have almost finished the jacket. All I have to add is unit info, name tape, etc. I am extremely impressed at how well the lady and bombs came out on the leather though.
All comments and critisisms welcome. I may do a second one of these and sell this one to fund a better second one, still undecided yet.

Austeyr.

That looks really good! Given all of the bomber group patches and custom paintjobs I have seen on crew pics there is great scope for lots of interesting figures of this type - lets hope the B17 gunner is the first of many.

Very nice. Just do the front of the girl on the front of the jacket also.

Thanks for all the kind words fellas. Tonight I added the 8th AAF patches to the sleeves and I am yet to do the name of the aircraft on the rear and front of the jacket. Unfortunately due to the lady being taken from a real jacket I don't have a picture of the front of her.
I think this aircrafts nose art was just her "tail".
I should run with the original name from the original jacket but I think I'm calling this one "Baker Moon" (baker - buns - Moon - arse cheeks, get it?)

Should be more pics up maybe tomorrow, I'll have to keep working on this one.
Anyone know where I can get a leather "skull cap" or the sorts with the lambs wool ear flaps. I tried the BBi Japanese version but nah it looks.... too..... Japanesy.

I'm seeing a white dimensional edge in areas of the brown paint.......did you do this with printable decals?

As for the hat and such, you may just want to wait for the Dragon release and pick up the parts loose.

Dragon are doing one?? I know there's been speculation but is it a fact? I'll be getting one if they do.
As for the transfer, yeah it's a water slide decal. They're a bitch to put on. They're fairly strong but they're a white sheet which means where they slide off there's a small edging around the decal where there's no ink. They work pretty well. I'm going to try and mix up a colour the same as the jacket and blend it in somehow.
There is also quite a bit of beading on the paper as you can image as it being ink. That also causes some small problems but the printer I have has a "inkjet printable stickers" setting which minimises it all. It's only noticable up close.

Beading doesn't show in the pictures and it looks good.

Latest word is that the Dragon figure will indeed be produced:
Bomber Figure Update

I REALLY hope this is true. I can't remember the last time there was this much buzz about a figure release.
