Making Sandbags - Video Tutorial
Thrill at the sound of a sewing machine!
Marvel at a grown man using sharp scissors! Fall asleep whilst watching this! A few people asked for a tutorial on how to make sandbags - here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ2v0QYCdi4

Excellent tutorial AM. Can I offer a small tip when making your sandbags??? When starting or stopping your stitching instead of leaveing extra thread and tying off use a backstitch with the sewing machine and you will save the need for tying off the ends of the thread. It's simple to do... just start your stitching about 1/2 an inch down from the top edge but stitch toward the top then with the needle in the down position rotate the bag and stitch as normal and do the oposite when you get to the other end of the stitch line. Then you just trim the thread and bingo, stitches are locked and no need to tie off the threads. You only need 3 or 4 stitches of back stitching to lock the thread
