In the small batch of photos there's a pic of a P-38 shoulder holster. Is that an issued item or field-made?

Isn't that cammo'd gun actually an MP-38?...it would be interesting to know if they were still in service by this time...really, I guess I don't see why some of them wouldn't have still been around.
Still, it begs asking...

Nice pics, I love those displays. Does anyone have any idea why older museums don’t replace their antiquated mannequins with some newer realistic ones? I think it would give such a better presentation. I’m referring to the mannequins you see displayed at the USMC museum in Quantico, VA. The expressions on those mannequins are so life like! You can literally see perspiration on their faces…you fell as if your seeing a piece of time. I think upgrading to these newer style mannequins would go a long way in presenting the equipment and uniforms. These are great pics none- the-less.
