Just goes to prove the old adage - there's a prototype for everything!

Interesting with the MG42. Read an article the other day about the exploits of the Rifle Brigade at El Alamein. While storming a German position with the Carriers, they opened up with everything they had, which apparently included a number of captured German MGs. I suppose, if as in the picture above, you come across a functioning weapon with obviously loads of ammo for it and a fixed position to defend, you're hardly going to throw it away in favour of a Bren.

I really like the photos however that is not a 251, looks more like one of the homeland defense armored cars, Beaverett, Morris etc. Those are probably more English than Canadian.

Love the Goulash Cannon with the star painted on it. Would be cool to see in a dio as something different and hear the people that try to tell you that it isn't correct. LOL. Thanks for sharing as you always come up with great stuff.

The half track looks like one of the French types that were up-armored and used by the 21st Panzer Division in Normandy. It matches drawings and photos of a Schutzenpanzerwagen (1. Ausfuhrung) auf Unic P. 107 Kennummer U 304 (F) in one of the Walter Spielberger titles.

yes I know, way too anal!

Cheers,
Ron V

In may-june 1940 german forces capture more 2K of french semi-tracked vehicles UNIC P.107.

A 1/35 scale Unic P. 107 show just how ugly these were. Almost like Allied stuff, heh wait a minute the French were Allies!? Eh! that explains that.

PS 1 more, pretty sure this one is a 251. Maybe.
