I know there was a tread on this but cant find it. Want to make a German First Sergeant of an armored unit and one from the infantry around 1941 or early 1942.

I have a uniform with the tress on the collar and the double strips on the sleeves. What shoulder boards would be used?

What awards might be correct for this old First Sergeants? And their arrangement.

Thanks in advance for your help?

The straps should have 3 stars on them, 2 at the shoulder end horizontally and one above. As for medals he could have the EKII ribbon in the second button hole, an EKI on the left pocket, tank badge in silver for the tanker, and a silver inf badge for the other, most likely a wound badge in black silver or even gold. Could also have a close combat clasp above the top edge of the left pocket flap. Depending if they served on the Eastern front the os ribbon under the EKII ribbon. On the left sleeve there could be a Krim shield or a kuban shield and yes even both shields side by side. On the Inf man there could be one or more tank destruction badges on the upper right sleeve. Is your tanker wereing a black or FG wrapper or an m36 or m40 tunic? I'm assumeing the tunic. Remember pink pipeing on the straps and in the "lites" of the litzen or a set of generic litzen. just a few suggestions..... Harold
PS der spiess is a position not a rank so he could have just 2 stars on the straps
