• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

    Does anyone recognize this "Firefly"

Saw this on eBay and think it's kind of amazing. Does anyone know who built this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-WW2-Sherman-FireflyTank-1-6-Scale-Vehicle-w-Extras-British-Fiberglass/193452242655?hash=item2d0aa6f6df:g:wGEAAOSw3axeplQx

New 2nd Armored MP from Dragon in Dreams http://did.co/category/product/us-2nd-armored-division-military-police-bryan.html Pretty cool set. Recent experiences with etailers

I haven't been doing a lot of purchasing lately and recently needed to buy some parts to complete some figures. The options of where to shop have grown much thinner, but two of those who are still around were always my go to guys anyway. I think it's amazing that Monkey Depot and War Toys...

Uniform from bbi Dusty Rhodes USMC

I hope someone can identify a uniform for me. The bbi Dusty Rhodes figure came with a camouflage uniform I'm not familiar with. Is this actually a US Army uniform or later Marine/USN type or maybe just a fantasy piece? bbi didn't make a lot of fantasy stuff and this uniform is very detailed...

    Shep Paine, Master Modeller

When I was a wee lad in the 1970's a modeller named Sheperd Paine was creating diorama displays and instructional tip sheets for kids like me and adult modellers alike contracted by Monogram Models. I personally built all of the Panzer IV variants as well as Sherman's and Grant/Lee models. He's...

DiD's latest is it the perfect Haversack?

Just saw Brady's review at www.monkeydepot.com for the new GI from DiD. Pretty much every item they have previously offered seems to be improved which is great. But the thing I noticed most while scanning through was the Haversack and Meatcan pouch. Besides the Sideshow 1910 version which I...

    Finally got a DML Schwimmwagen

Brady at www.monkeydepot.com had a free shipping weekend last week so I broke down and ordered a schwimmer from him. Not the ridiculously good value of the kubelwagen but worth every penny that I paid for it nonetheless. I'm sure most anyone interested has already read reviews about it since...

    Letter from camp

Dear Dad, I'm having a great time here at the Olympic training facility. Heer Spender and Fraulein Dr. Elsa have been very nice and say they think I'm a shoe in for a Gold Medal at the 1940 Games in power lifting. I'm very excited and looking forward to showing what Heer Spender calls "The...
