• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

German Fieldkitchen model kit

Company Commander
Anyone interested in a model kit for a 1/6 scale German Fieldkitchen (aka: Gulashkanone)?
One of my fellow collectors recently asked me if I could provide him with some of the 3d printed resin parts so he could create a german fieldkitchen. As I was preparing & printing the parts for him I started to wonder if there would be enough demand to create a complete model kit which will allow anyone to build their own fieldkitchen?
The kit will contain everything you need to build the fieldkitchen:
- 3d printed resin parts
- lasercut MDF panels
- some cast resin parts (like the wheels)
- metal parts (chains, rings etc)
- wooden dowels for the axes
- decals
The kit will NOT include CA glue, paint or skills.

Building the fieldkitchen will require a medium skill level .
Tools you will AT LEAST need: set of files with different shapes, a sprue-cutter, mini drills between 0.7 mm and 2.5mm, sanding paper, tweezers, mithre block and a small hacksaw.

Estimated cost for the kit will be around € 200 (excluding shipping).

Attached are some pictures of my own completed fieldkitchen as used in a photoshoot and of a testbuild so you can get an idea of what the kit will contain.
If you are seriously interested, please send me a PM and I will keep you updated. This will not commit you to purchase the model kit.

Once the model kit is ready for production I will take orders, which will include a pre-order payment of 25%.
NB: I know there are other 3d printed fieldkitchens available, but I designed this model based on photo's and measurements which I took from a original german fieldkitchen at a local Dutch warmuseum. This is as accurate as you can get! 🤓

Looking forward to your responses!

Looks like it would be a great kit.
That sounds like a very reasonable price. I hope you can produce it for so little and not take a bath.

This weekend I finished building the final prototype of the german field kitchen. I was able to make all the hatches, drawers and doors working.
Next step will be to create silicon moulds for the larger pieces like the wheels as printing those takes about 10 hrs each. I also need to purchase additional materials and write down some instructions on how to build the model.

Hopefully I will be able to accept orders for this model kit starting december 1st. Until then, please enjoy these pictures!

HI DUTCHMAN,
YOUR KITCHEN LOOKS AMAZING. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED ONE AND AT 200.00 I CAN AFFORD IT, DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH SHIPPING. ANY IDEA WHAT SHIPPING WILL COST TO SEND ONE TO THE USA?
QUESTIONS; IS CA GLUE CRAZY GLUE? WOULD GRAY PRIMER BE THE CORRECT COLOR? ALL MY FIGURES ARE EARLY WAR AND IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYTHING WAS GRAY THEN. :)
HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

Hi Dancinghorse,
With tracking and signature receipt it will cost € 30 to ship the kit to the US.

Superglue and "Krazy" glue are brand names for the same adhesive - Cyanoacrylate (CA).

Cheers!

That is a great looking "Gulaschkanone" Dutchman and a tempting offer in kit form production. I do have one already but I do like the detailing in yours so definitely something I'll consider should you choose to go full kit-form production mode. Thanks for sharing (and perhaps providing me another opportunity to fill whatever remains of my shelf space), cheers, Steve
