• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

German MTO tropical Uni's????

Sparky

Platoon Leader
Jon, Jack Cherry said that you were the person that could answer these questions for me. With all the new DML releases of DAK figures, would the tropical uni's have also been used by German Heer and SS troops in Italy?
Would they have used the tropical pants with continental style tunics or combinations of the two??? Also, what about the use of the tropical infantry gear like webbed gear and the like???

Thanks for any help you can give on this one.

Grüß Gott "Blitzen" ('Sparky' auf Deutsch),

German Tropical Clothing was not only worn by the DAK, but was worn in all southern climates like southern France, Italy, Yugoslavia, Greece, and southern Russia. Thoughout this area you will see a wide variety of uniform combintations, as well as tropical web gear being worn.

If you have any other questions about German troops, you should post them over on the Kampfgruppe Edelweiß board, which isn't just for mountain troop questions.

Mit einem kameradschaftlichen Horrido!

Thank you Sir, I will surely pass this information on to my friends and also the link to the board you mentioned.

My focus is mainly on German forces and vehicles and I'm always looking for interesting bits of information.

Again, thank you for your input, it's greatly appriciated !!!

As the SS had no tropical unis of their own , their first tropical uniforms were stoick from the luftwaffe.
Have Fun
