• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

New Project - Opel halftrack truck

New project. 3D printed maultier Opel truck from Minialand57 available on Cults3D.

I tweaked some things - I didn't like the tires so made my own. Tires printed in TPU, the frame, cab and running gear are printed in PLA+ or PETG.

Project update - Driving test and photo shoot of status. Getting there. Still missing those doors which are a pain to print.

Track and spocket, I modified the track design to have cleats. Original track was smooth (no traction).

I am constantly amazed at the quality of the 3d print work that comes out on SAG, this being no exception and particularly more-so when they're more of a unique kind of vehicle. Cheers for sharing Bob, Steve

Hi Steve, thanks for the comments - 3D printers have come a long way in last 5 years. The Bambu printers have revolutionized printing with incredible speed and amazing print quality. That said, the cab, doors and fenders on this are sanded and filled a little as well - so not completely "as printed".

There are so many models available to makers its pretty astounding and mind boggling. Printing has certainly expanded my ability to create, make models. Thanks for your comments!

Hammer's, Ortona (and others) - thanks for positive feedback.

Thank you SAG for a place to post projects (beside FB).

Enjoy the holidays,
Bob

Thanks Squidley, like building a boat LOL. I like the cherry and oak, but ran out of cherry. I thought it turned out decent. Merry Christmas all.
