• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Hello,
My name is Greg and I live in Providence. I have been collecting vintage GI Joes for a while now and Dragon figs since Fritz came out. I make my own customized German helmets which I sell on-line. I am moderator of the Ground Pounders forum.

Good to see you back Greg! I was just looking at a number of your fine helmets the other day! (I think I even have a jerry can that you did for me!) What are you making these days??

Let me see...I think I stopped posting around the time I started graduate school in 2005, which took a few years, then I had a daughter in 2008, which keeps me busy. I don't go to Tony's anymore, for the same reason alcoholics in recovery don't frequent bars. I haven't been building much 1;6 scale stuff, I have been restoring old wooden and candlestick phones, one of my other hobbies. My daughter found a few of my old "man dollies" and I started thinking about some of my old projects I left incompleted, and well...here I am!

Here is the last helmet I have left from the "SARGECO Custom Helmets"

The business had a good run there for a while, but competitors flooded the market with cheaper, inferior quality versions and my market dried up. Within a few months I went from people begging me to sell helmets to them at $25 to not wanting to pay $10.

I still store mine in that packaging between projects! Begging - is such an undignified term......I prefer......ahhhhh, oh hell begging it is then! ha
