The Camouflaged Defensive Position
A Red Army Scout by the name of Ilya Bykova is on a lone scouting mission somewhere in the mountains. As he peers through his binoculars he sees a small German four man patrol on the march. Seeing he was outnumbered he pulls up his hood and hides amongst the mountain brush. As the patrol just passes him (clearly they didn’t see him) he moves to a position behind an old MG nest on a promontory. After achieving the goal of better cover, he opens fire from above. Catching the Germans off guard he drops three of them, but one fires back. Thanks to his good cover, the bullets bounce harmlessly off the re-enforced logs. Ilya fires back and in moment the whole German patrol is eliminated. Instances such as this show that the Russians superb Ameba pattern uniform is very effective in infiltrating enemy positions and blinding the enemy of your position even in broad daylight.
