• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

We had a great time this past weekend at the show! Tons of great displays put on by the club and a great selection of vendors with all of your 1:6th scale needs!

The club especially appreciates the following board members taking the time to get up from behind their computer desks and actually making the trip to see the show in person:

Andrew (crusader1xxx), Ben (original paintbrush), Bryan, (bjones), Chuck, (hansalbin), Mike (mickeyfin), Phil (granatwerfer)

We hope you enjoy the photos and be sure to check it out in person next year!

I can only say it again, the pics don't do the show justice. I really enjoyed *every* 1/6th display I saw.

-Mike's War Correspondent display with the figures was impressive enough. But he had a whole nother 1:1 set-up with a veteran's lot he picked up. It included a field manual for an Engineer who helped cross the Bridge at Remagen and had amazing photos.

-Mike & Phil's Korea set-up was also fantastic. It caught my eye immediately when I walked in. The pics don't translate the size of this thing. And more 1:1 gear to boot to support it.

-Wes's figures were amazing. The Russians in Stalingrad (based on the well-known photos), the Monte Cassino FJ's, the SIG field piece - all amazing. And damn, he had some great deals on his stuff for sale. I picked up a recent Toys City German set for only $50. And my son picked up some weapons from him as well.

-Dick & Cory's 12th SS Recon was amazing as well. Took up practically the whole middle aisle. I didn't even bother to count all the motorcycles. And the DAK stuff was amazing as well.

-Fred's Airborne guys were top notch as well. It's hard to tell from the pics how much detail and what great gear he re-worked with them. And having a real Airborne patch and parachute swatch was top notch!

-Cindy's figures may have been my favorite. I talked to her for a few minutes about how much effort and detail she put into them. Every single figure pretty much had Battle Gear Toys items, like leather boots and brass bullets, etc. Some were head to toe BGT. She just loves the vintage Joe body. And man, she had a ton of WWII figures, WWI and Western figures.

And then the deals. Frank as always: carded sets for a steal, tons of loose gear and bashed figures (seriously - groups of DML insignia for just a $1!), boxed figures, etc. Cory also had tons of loose items in tubs, Toys City sets, tons of boxed figures (Buy one, get one 1/2 off) and he always has a ton of Newline stuff. He also had a ton of vehicle accessories and vehicle kits too. The dealer from Indy, AP Collectibles, had a ton of rarer WWII boxed figures, esp. from DID.

I could have spent more, easily. But I had too much fun watching my son buy more loose items than me. :-P

Glad you guys liked the photos!

Ben - always a pleasure to have you and Mike over from Indy! Thanks for the review; you've said it much better than I could!

Peter - we'd love to have you up! Hope you can make it next year!

Hope to see everyone again next year - and then some!

Fred

Considering the distance from my home to the show, I can only enjoy the photos, even if they don´t do justice Ben lol

Fantastic, sure you have a great time and thanks for sharing it.

Jaime.

Thanks for the compliments - glad you guys enjoyed the photos!

Jamie - being in Spain, and our show being across the Atlantic in the United States, you are exempt from my rants about collectors online who do not actually get up from their computer desks (or more likely, out from behind their smartphone screens), and show up at an actual event.

HEHEHEHE...

Thanks for the compliments guys!

We had a great time!

Fred
