Studio Portrait

Here we have four brothers who all managed to make it home on leave at the same time in the early part of 1940 and decided they better get their picture taken.

Have to thank my sister who is the photoshop guru for helping me
age this photo to 1940.

Here they are in glorious living (almost) color.

The cornflower blue waffenfarbe of the oberassistenzarzt is actually a little darker in reality. I believe the studio lighting has lightened it a bit too much. I have the medical cypher on his boards, just can't see them here.

Thanks for looking

That looks really good!

Individual studio portraits were common in Germany early in the war. I have several of uncle's and cousins. One of my cousins was a Fallschirmjaeger. In his studio portrait, he's wearing his helmet, jump smock, 782 gear and carrying his MP40.

Great job. Where did you get the medical cyphers?

Thanks gentlemen.
Cory, only real people in my head.

Hans, I made the cyphers. Took closeup, detailed photo from the web and in photoshop, reduced it and printed on heavy stock paper and then with a fresh xacto blade cut it out. Painted the cut edges and glued it on.

ALso did the veterinary snake and some numbers that way.

Very nice. Always hard to make dress uniforms look sharp enough.
Great job!

I love these types of photos. Its really a chance to do something out tof the ordinary in 1:6 but which is all too common in real life. Very human if I may say.

Leatherneck.. RedBulls and Green Devils in your extended family tree? I'm waiting for some Desert Rats to find their way in there too!! LOL

Really nice!

And a very good and interesting idea too!

Think of some portrait shots of my KM-Men ...
