Polish Home Army Warsaw Uprising August 1944

August 1, 1944 as Russian guns thundered in the distance, 40,000 patriots of the Polish Home Army rose up against the Germans in Warsaw.
They seized 3/5ths of Warsaw, the main post office, central railway station, gasworks and water works were captured.
The Poles wanted to liberate Warsaw without owing their freedom to the Russians. For 57 days they fought the Germans, Warsaw was slowly demolished. Water and supplies began to run short. Allied bombers flew relief missions from England and Italy but 3/4's of the supplies fell into German hands.
The Russians just waited on the far side of the Vistula as the Home Army was gradually eliminated.
By late September the Home Army had cast it's bolt and 15,000 survivors surrendered honourably to General Eric von dem BachZelewski. Two thousand women and 550 children marched off to the POW camps. They could have faded into the shadows, they didn't.
As the Home Army was marched out of Warsaw, what was left of the population stood in reverance and awe at the procession of emaciated, filthy, bloodstained and bandaged men, women and children as they marched off to captivity.
They were singing the Polish national anthem.

Thanks for looking.

God bless 'em.

Nice depiction of the subject Geoff, really well done.

My only negative would be that the last figure looks too "Manga'. The first two are really, really good.

Excellent work Geoff. The Home Army were amongst the bravest of the brave and sadly betrayed by those who had the power to assist them.

MediaCom Elizebeth Swan Pirates of the Carribean

First one is also MediaCom Ripley from Aliens

The 3rd figure is a cheapo Lucy Lawless Zenna Barbarian figure grafted onto a Obitsu body.

MediaCom and SST are one and the same as I'm told.

As luck would have it, I've been working on a young man to help these ladies in their fight against the Fascists! He's not quite finished yet, still needs weathering etc. Here's a pic (sorry the pic isn't so good):

Superb figures. Partisans are a very welcome addition. As you commented the medicom/SST heads do look really good. But I think that I must be getting too involved in the hobby. The Elizabeth Swan HS is the first piece of plastic that I have ever found very attractive.

Sideshow are the licensed distributor of (Japanese) Medicom figures in the US. The Ripley and Elizabeth Swan figures are actually made by the HK based company Hot Toys - their "Movie Masterpiece" line of figures is also distributed in the US by Sideshow.
