• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

    Amusing Beer Carton

Hi all, My son was up from florida for christmas, went to the store to run an errand, and came back with a six pack of the most hilarious (to me, and I suspect to many of you) box of beer I've ever seen. Obviously, the guys who brew this share some of our sensibilities, and proclivities. I...

    Fun Day in Massachusets

I recently had the pleasure of going to the Collings Foundation 2019 Battle for the Airfield. This is a reenactor event, that features a bunch of running US WWII equipment (jeeps, stewarts, shermans, an achilles (ok, that one is not US), some faux german armor (PZKW III, Stug III (the one that...

FYI: Dear Squidley, The OneSixth UK website and forum are once again coming up for their two year renewal in mid-December. Sadly, the forum has been seriously under-utilised over the last two years and indeed has not permanent Admin staff at present. One or two of the previous admins to...

    George Puller HBT Uniform question

Is it good for an ETO infantryman? From what I've read, seems so, but I wanted to ask the question directly. I know the pack that came with him is only good for the pacific (no camo versions in ETO, right?). Thanks any and all!

    Soldier Story 2nd ID Korea

Hi guys. Does anyone know if the overcoat/parka that came with this figure is appropriate for a WWII american? The bulk of the other gear looks good, but I'm not convinced about this particular piece. Here's a link to the image for reference...

    plausibility check

I'm pulling out some old figs and assembling them lately. I dug out a BBI Red Parker. He's a US mortarman, and has a packboard to carry the dissembled pieces of the mortar. Box art shows all of it strapped to the board. Remembering some some of Eduardo's posts here, I question if that's even...

    Normandy Guide

A few years ago I was lucky enough to take my wife and kids to Europe. Included in this trip was a day-long tour of the American invasion beaches. It was a private tour, just the 5 of us and the guide. We did St Mere Eglise and the D-Day museum there, Utah and Omaha beaches, Pointe du Hoc...

    DML Sherman question

Santa was good to me, and left me a Sherman under the tree. It's the earlier kit with the 105/75 guns. I'm not all that familiar with Shermans, so I thought I'd ask you experts out there. Would it be appropriate to do something to the turret surface of this tank to give a more "cast metal"...

    British Paratroop Medic question

Would it be appropriate for a para medic to carry a sidearm (pistol)? I seem to recall that german medics did, americans did not, but I don't know about the brits. I'm working through all of my spare british stuff to finish up my paras, and the medic is one of the last few to be done...
