• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

11th ABN Division Trooper - Japan 1945

SFC Reising

Machine Gunner
All,

Here is a recent figure I completed. My collection has been missing an 11th Airborne Division trooper as well as troops in dress uniform. So, I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I hope you like him.

Thanks for looking.

So cool. Awesome. I have a special place in my heart for the 11th. Thanks for sharing your figure.
My pop was a proud trooper back in the late 50s. I actually did a tribute to him (he passed in 2011) from his days at Fort Campbell.

overall great job, just two little points of inaccuracy.

First, the position of the jump wings and CIB should be switched as back in the 1940s airborne wings was a higher rated badge than the CIB. Today the CIB is higher than jump wings

Second, the service stripes should be on the left arm and combat stripes on the right, you have them both on the left arm.

I guess if you wanted to get super detailed you could make the oval regimental backer for his wings but in WWII it was not always worn due to supply issues, so that would be more optional. Other than that it looks spot on.

Slick7,

I am glad that you like my figure. I think your figure is great as well. I love having troopers all geared up for a jump.

Andy,

Thank you for your input I wanted to place the wings and CIB as you suggested, but there wasn't enough room between the button and the ribbons. So, I compromised. Also, the placement of the service and overseas stripes is based upon pictures of veteran jackets from World War II. I used the book Geronimo! by Bill Rentz for guidance.

Excellent looking bash. We really do need to see some more US figures in class A uniform, its actually pretty rare to see.
