• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

DML DX'10 Panzer II has arrived!

egonzinc

Brigade Commander
Santa Claus arrived late, but I forgive him!

Today came early from work and found the huge box of the first of two PzII I ordered. This one came directly from DML
The tank is amazing! The finish is very nice.
The tracks 'as is' are great and with a little paint will be fantastic.
Everything is plastic and VERY well packed. Very light vehicle which almost guaratees a good trip. Running gear not on the tank, and all well packed in foam rubber compartments.
I'm so happy I ordered two as it is a great looking piece and now I hope some of the part providers get the conversion bits out there for an upgraded tank (angular front, cupola and extra turret on armor).

Might move this one to the head of the "get done" queu and hopefully soon post some images once done.

Feliz Año Nuevo!! y ....
Que siga la fiesta!

Can't wait to see what you do with it. All your vehicles come out looking great.
Happy New Year!

After a crappy day of work I got home to find my Panzer II arrived. I dragged it in said hello to the wife, kids and dogs. Then like a young child (I am over fifty),all excited went to work putting it together.

Looks great went together easy and nothing was broken, thanks to the great packing Dragon used, I am super happy with her.

Can't wait for you to make a panzer III.

Great job Dragon!!...........Hammer

So at first look do you think that the Panzer II could be a good candidate for a R/C conversion? Do you think that the components like the tracks and drive could withstand being used as a light R/C ??
How do you like the detail on the tank ?
I think I have to get one of them too..:p

I have absolutely no interest or experience in R/C, but from looking at the parts I would think that the stress would be too much on the plastic driver wheel.
If the driver was metal the rest, I would speculate , could handle the stress. Although if the driver was made of metal, then the tracks would need to be metal too?
On the other hand it would not take much to get this tank moving as it is very light.
But as a static model it is all I could have hoped for.
