• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Has anyone found a way to remove the bipod on the Dragon BAR? :S I have seen pictures in which the bipod on the BAR was removed to reduce the weight.

You will have to do surgery on it... by completely removing the section of the barrel where the bipod is attached. Then you will need to replace it with a section of styrene of the same diameter as that section of the barrel... then repaint to match.

When I do surgery on barrels, I try to drill a small hole straight into either section where the connection is made and insert a piece of wire or really thin gauge styrene to help hold it together while the glue dries. Then it adds stability when you're done.

I just finished doing the procedure on my BAR. You can get brass tubing to match the barrel diameter. I retained the bolt like piece near the end and replaced brass on either end. I sprayed the metal parts with Metalizer after masking some critical areas. It sure seemed like troopers didn't have much use for the bipod, so it seems like a worthwhile project.
Have fun!

I did just like Dougmo, execpt I drilled out the end of the barrel to fit a solid 4/32" OD brass rod and then slide a 10/64" OD hollow brass tube over it. then attached the barrel nut and flash surpresser on to that.
