• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

    The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

    The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

     

    One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

    There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

    Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
    Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

     

    Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

    All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

Well no snow yet up here north of the border in Ontario Canada we have no snow yet, looks like Santa will have to dig out his old 4 wheel drive Jeep to make his toy run..... I know my Mohawk ancestors had a rain dance but I wonder did they also have a snow dance..... LOL
 
Don't worry, Harold; when the snow comes, it will come until you are well finished enjoying it!
 
You know winter is better than summer.... you can always throw another blanket on the bed, hop in bed with the better half, put another log on the fire.... but when it's 110 in the shade and you are bare naked in front of the airconditioner that's as cool as you are going to get, and if you have a pool you have to get out of sooner or later..... LOL
 
We just finished 5 days of record breaking warmth in NJ/NY. Shirt sleeve weather in December. This is nuts.

Just think - if you were in Michigan we could be setting up a Battle of the Bulge dio right now.

You should have sent me your Germans - I'd have let you borrow my Marines and Japanese for Hawaii for sure!

Well got an early xmas present this morning.... Woke to about an inch of snow this morning but it won't last long as the ground hasn't frozen yet so the snow will melt away by the end of today..... :(
 
The West got it all Gentlemen! We got 20+inches last week. Another storm tomorrow. El Nino is visiting the Pacific this year! No complaints either since we got two marvelous previous winters that felt like Springs

And the holidays in Quebec will be much easier without the typical 7 ft snow banks!
 
Well spoke too soon we got about 6-8 inches of the stuff yesterday and last night. But we are expecting rain tomorrow up to and including Thursday the 24th, but no rain or snow on Friday 25th Christmas Day
 
Well it was too good to last, we had rain all day today and now all that lovely snow is gone :(
